Most of Sue's early work was for her first love, horses then years of pet portraits followed. The first tractor she pointed, the grey Ferguson, opened a new direction.

Having grown up in the country, the knowledge was there, waiting to be painted: work-a-day scenes with (plenty of mud) the backdrop of English farm buildings which have seen generation of workers, the horseman of old, the transition of tractors, and finally today's giants.
